Me Vale
Maná is a Mexican pop rock band from Guadalajara, Jalisco. The group's current line-up consists of vocalist/guitarist Fher Olvera, drummer Alex González, guitarist Sergio Vallín, and bassist Juan Calleros. Maná has earned four Grammy Awards, seven Latin Grammy Awards, six Premios Juventud awards, fourteen Billboard Latin Music Awards and fifteen Premios Lo Nuestro awards.
The band's sound draws from the pop rock, Latin pop, calypso, and reggae and ska music genres. They initially received international commercial success in Australia and Spain and have since gained popularity and exposure in the US, Western Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. No other Latin rock act sells more albums or arenas with the consistency of Maná. The band has sold more than, 40 million albums worldwide.
Maná has a non-profit charity called “Fundacion Ecologica Selva Negra A.C.” Which focuses on environmental conservation while adapting to social development. It educates the public in the possibilities of preserving, rescuing the environment while acclimating to progress.
How many of us care about what other people think about our physical appearance or the way we dress? A lot of people that I know are worried about what other people think. Some think they have to behave in a certain way, so they won’t be criticized. If you have tattoos then you are a gangster, if you have piercings then you have low self-stem. If you don’t drink alcohol then you are a coward. It turns out, that it doesn’t matter how you behave, in society you will always be criticized; it doesn’t matter how good or bad you are people are always going to have something to talk about. Do not let this people influence your life so much. The song “Me Vale” (I Don’t Care) is precisely about not paying attention to what other people think about. It encourages people to be themselves and accept each other the way they are.
